Active Legacy Share & Learn is a collaborative learning event bringing together Legacy 2014 partners Scottish Sports Futures, Active East, the Scottish Government, The Robertson Trust, Glasgow Sport, Drumchapel Sports and Spirit of 2012.

This event is the first in a series of Roadshows, which will provide an opportunity to learn from a wide range of organisations who have been working throughout Scotland to get people more active and to develop communities through physical activity & sport. Speakers include the Minister for Public Health & Sport, Aileen Campbell MSP.

These events will see the launch of an innovative new online toolkit for called Thrive. Practitioners will be able to use and help develop the Thrive toolkit as a resource to support their own practice in making people and communities more active. This toolkit will be publicly available and will contain teaching materials and resources to allow as many people as possible to benefit from the learning gained from Legacy 14 projects.

Spirit of 2012 is also pleased to be delivering the Sporting Equality Fund, which is now live and open for applications. The Fund aims to increase the number of women and girls who participate in sport and physical activity in Scotland and will offer grants of up to £25,000 to community organisations who can help achieve that aim.

Sports Minister Aileen Campbell said: “It’s fantastic that the Legacy of the Glasgow 14 Games is continuing to have an impact across the country. This collaborative event, marking the third anniversary of the best ever Commonwealth Games is a perfect example of that.

“We hope the toolkit will be a really useful resource to enable practitioners to share their learning and expertise with each other to help ensure that as many people and communities continue to get more active and more healthy as a direct result of those Games back in 2014.”
